DEXEL'S PERFORMANCE

DEXEL's performance can be accredited from its refrence sites which to-date cover 6 sectors of business enterprises in Zimbabwe, namely:

1. Agriculture:- Grin Marketing Board (GMB) and Dairiboard Zimbabwe Limited (DZL). In both organisations,

  • Dexel defined and sized all the computer equipment required in the installation of SAP R/3 systems;

  • Dexel supplied all the computer equipment required to operate SAP R/3 systems

  • DEXEL successfully installed SAP R/3 systems for both companies and the systems came LIVE in 1999.

  • A number of upgrades have also been successfully effected to these systems. Upgrades are an ongoing exercise.

  • Dexel has so far professionally and effectively maintained all this equipment and operating systems.

  • DEXEL worked with Ernst & Young as the Management Consultants in these project.

  1. Government:– Public Finance Management Systems

  • This project is for the Government of Zimbabwe and the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development are coordinating it. In exactly the same way as for GMB and DZL, DEXEL sized and supplied all the equipment required to operate SAP R/3 and it carried out the installation and it now maintains the equipment and operating system.

  • DEXEL worked on this project with SAP Africa and the project came LIVE in year 2000.

  1. Insurance:– ZIMNAT, Fidelity Life, First Mutual Life, NSSA

  • Dexel supplied the hardware and operating systems in these companies. In particular, DEXEL supplied Tru64 operating system to Fidelity Life and Windows NT to ZIMNAT and First Mutual Life. 

  • In NSSA, DEXEL supplied some of the Alpha servers and they maintain these servers, the OpenVMS operating system and printers.

  • On this project DEXEL worked with IT Design, an Irish IT Company.

  1. Telecommunications:- Net-One, Powertel (ZESA)

  • For Net-One, Dexel worked with Cap Gemini and Siemens. Dexel supplied all the Hardware and installed the Tru64 operating system. These systems are maintained by Dexel.

  • With Powertel (ZESA), Dexel provided the same services as it did on the GMB and DZL Projects. This, however, was effected as the first DEXEL HOSTING project and it is LIVE and fully functional. Dexel maintains these systems and associated hardware for Powertel.

  1. Manufacturing: - Lever Brothers, Cairns Foods

  • For Lever Brothers, a detergent manufacturer, Dexel supplied all the Hardware and installed the SCO UNIX software. Dexel is responsible for maintaining these systems and the hardware.

  • For Cairns Foods, Dexel worked with CHIPS in the installation of the Tetra CS3 accounting package and SCO UNIX operating system.

  1. Retail:- Jaggers Wholesalers

  • Working with Triple S (SSS) from South Africa, Dexel supplied all the hardware for Jaggers Wholesalers, a wholesale enterprise. This equipment included point of sale equipment, scanners, and thermal printers which were all linked to a SCO Unix server at Head Office. The central server was running an application called ADEPT. The server and all the POS equipment were supplied and maintained by Dexel.
