What does “DEXEL” Mean?

The name DEXEL was inspired by the universal human desire, in the ever-changing economies of the world, to continuously improve on ways of doing business. “DEXEL” implies the essence, purpose and mission of DEXEL Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd through the “Delivery of Business EXcELlence”. It is therefore the company’s name and mission to be The Preferred IT Business Solution Provider nationally, regionally and internationally.

 

DEXEL in the Global IT Business Structure?

 

DEXEL Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd was incorporated as a Zimbabwean company in October 1996 in a joint venture between DEXEL (Pty) Ltd of Epsom Downs, Johannesburg and local Zimbabwean investors. In March 1997, DEXEL (Pty) Ltd became an operating division of UNIHOLD Systems and Technologies, a wholly owned subsidiary of the UNIHOLD Group of companies in South Africa, which has extensive engineering and technological interests that are at the complete disposal of DEXEL Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd.

UNIHOLD (Pty) Ltd, which is listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), now owns 10% of DEXEL Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, with 90% owned by Zimbabwean Management.

 

DEXEL Zimbabwe started as one of the many common computer companies supplying personal computers, cartridges and ribbons to all. In 1998, DEXEL achieved its first major milestone towards being a leader in the Delivery of Business Excellence which achievement took DEXEL to a higher business plain than the ordinary computer company. DEXEL was certified in that year the first African Basis Partner for SAP in the whole of Africa north of the mighty Limpopo River.

Whilst DEXEL Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd is Zimbabwean based, its operations extend far afield to all the neighbouring countries including Zambia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia; and East and Central Africa including Kenya and Tanzania.
